Weight Loss Surgeries

Robotic-Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

The Roux-En-Y Gastric bypass procedure is considered the “Gold Standard” weight loss surgery for patients who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) above 35, representing about 75 pounds over the ideal body weight.

This procedure creates a small pouch (1-2 ounces in size) from the stomach and attaches it to the small intestine, bypassing the stomach altogether and reducing the amount of food that can be consumed along with the amount of nutrients that are absorbed — triggering hormonal and metabolic changes that result in rapid and efficient weight loss.

This procedure is performed ROBOTICALLY utilizing a minimally invasive approach of 4 to 5 small incisions across the stomach area leading to enhanced precision, less bleeding, reduced recovery time, decreased pain, and a much lower risk of complications.

Robotic-Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

The SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY weight loss procedure is newer and very popular with patients who have a BMI over 35, or 75 pounds over the ideal body weight.

This procedure removes 70% of the original stomach allowing patients to feel full with less food and eliminates the rerouting of intestines as with gastric bypass. By removing a large portion of the stomach the resulting hormonal and metabolic changes produce rapid and efficient weight loss.

This procedure is performed with ROBOTIC technology utilizing a minimally invasive approach using 4 to 5 small incisions across the stomach area instead of the traditional large open midline incision The ROBOTIC Minimally Invasive approach is more precise and reduces bleeding, recovery time, pain levels, and the risk of complications.

Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding

Commonly known as the LAP-BAND, this procedure places a silicon device (Lap Band) around the top portion of the stomach to limit calorie consumption. The tightness of the lap band determines how much a patient can eat, restricting the intake of calories. This procedure does not require cutting and rerouting of the stomach or intestines and is the least invasive procedure as patients lose weight based purely on caloric restriction. There is no metabolic or endocrine response with the lap band.

This procedure is done with cutting-edge ROBOTIC technology utilizing a minimally invasive approach of 4 to 5 small incisions across the stomach area instead of the traditional large open midline incision. Our ROBOTIC Minimally Invasive is precise and reduces bleeding, recovery time, pain levels, and lowers the risk of complications.

Robotic-Laparoscopic Modified Duodenal Switch

The newest weight loss procedure is the MODIFIED DUODENAL SWITCH, known as the SADI-S. It is a modification of the traditional Duodenal Switch; but safer and more effective. It is available for patients with a BMI over 35.

This procedure is done in two parts. The first is a Sleeve Gastrectomy described above. The second part divides the first part of the small intestine (duodenum) as it leaves the stomach and re-attaches it to the lower part of the small intestine (ileum). It is particularly effective in limiting calories, triggering a metabolic and endocrine response, and adding a malabsorptive component by skipping a large portion of the intestine.

Using cutting-edge ROBOTIC technology to produce 4 to 5 small incisions, our ROBOTIC Minimally Invasive approach provides enhanced surgical precision, less bleeding, reduced recovery time, decreased pain, and lower risk of complications.
